External Sales Executive to help our client expand their business activities and customer database in the Cape Town and the broader Western Cape Region. The External Sales Executive will be responsible for discovering and pursuing new sales prospects and maintaining customer satisfaction as well as meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
  • At least 3 years proven working experience in the sales industry.
  • Experience in the Electrical and/or Renewable Industry will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Fluent Afrikaans (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Drivers licence and reliable transport
  • Willingness to travel - be on road to grow client base.
  • Intermediate level of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Presentable with strong Interpersonal communication and listening skills.
  • Must be deadline driven and position sometimes requires over time.
  • Must have a high degree of self-motivation and ambition, and have the skills to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational, operational, and planning skills in a customer service- and sales focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Sales in region of responsibility.
  • Developing strong relationships with key accounts to maintain a high level of service and client loyalty in building customer base.
  • Calling on customers and servicing their needs.
  • Writing and submitting periodical reports based on sales and any other occurrences.
  • Meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients.
  • Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports.
  • Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs.
  • Understanding and promoting company programs.
  • Obtaining deposits and balance of payment from clients.
  • Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders.
  • Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services.
  • Maintaining client records.
  • Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability.
  • Staying up to date with the latest trends in sales and the field of their product by reading publications and attending conferences and seminaries; and
  • Monitoring market fluctuations, tendencies, and trends as well as following competitors activity.
  • Utilizes continuous improvement mindset and assists in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
