Contract Manager-10+ yrs exp (Contract) Richardsbay, KZN

Our client requires the services of a Contract Manager-10+ yrs exp.

POSITION: Fixed Term Contract for 6-12 months (estimated) (option to extend).

COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Law or category relevant.
  • CIPS registration and/or qualification would be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 - 15 years in Procurement and Contract management environment in the
  • construction industry.
  • Procurement in an international environment and exposure to the procurement and
  • contract management of capital goods and construction works
  • In-depth understanding of construction bill of quantities and their application in contract management.

THE ROLE:

  • Adhere to the Project sourcing strategies and road maps for the procurement of capital
  • goods and related services to ensure best practice.
  • Management of daily capital procurement requirements including drafting contracts, placing orders, pricing, supplier payment and account queries
  • Ensure alignment with the Group Procurement team
  • Scope and source at a global level
  • Plans and executes RFQ and tenders, evaluates tenders and RFQs, prepares and approves RFQ/ tender evaluation
  • Develop negotiation strategies and participate in negotiations to ensure the lowest
  • Total Cost of Ownership for the company.
  • Drives cost-saving initiatives
  • Draft and finalize contracts within the management guidelines and policy.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs
  • Manage contract post-award, that is, issuing and responding to contractual letters, manage and evaluate variation orders
  • Drafting and finalizing contract amendments.
  • Review and assess variation orders. Manage variation order register.
  • Issuing, responding, and closing out Early warnings. Attending risk reduction meetings.
  • Managing Early warning register.
  • Conduct supplier relationship management including supplier audits and evaluations as required from time to time
  • Perform regular market analysis and benchmarking
  • Focus on buying channel digitalization and automation
  • Monitor risks and ensure that the strategy and road-maps are adjusted to account for any changes
  • Build strong relationship with Project team
