Position: Technical Superintendent /Port Engineer

Location: Abudhabi, United Arab Emirates

Responsibilities:

  • Manage maintenance, modification, and vessel outfitting budgets, including cost allocation and accurate cost estimation for project(s) and vessel owners.
  • Ensure repair, maintenance, and outfitting projects are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with environmental standards. Supervise the vessel outfitting, maintenance, or repair team.
  • Coordinate statutory surveys with classification authorities and maintain vessels and equipment up to the respective Class standards. Ensure full compliance of equipment certifications according to statutory and Class requirements.
  • Provide accurate reporting on maintenance, modifications, and repairs. Regularly update technical files in accordance with international regulations and project requirements.
  • Maintain equipment history and Implement actions based on lessons learned within the Equipment Department.
  • Collect relevant information and prepare an activity list for repair/modification projects.
  • Ensure repair and maintenance projects are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with environmental standards. Supervise the vessel mobilization, maintenance, or repair team.
  • Tender and negotiate with repair facilities. Identify, organize, and follow up on subcontractors, materials, and personnel required for vessel mobilizations, outfitting, or repairs.
  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary team to ensure the availability of the right resources and foster effective communication among team members.
  • Provide support to marine and HSE department on relevant matters

Qualifications:

  • Higher Professional Education (bachelor) in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Maritime Engineering.
  • Experience in the operation of Offshore Vessels, including familiarity with the FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) process.
  • 4 years of experience as Chief engineer (Class-1 COC) in offshore vessels, DP-2, DP-1, AHTS, OSV, High speed crew boats, PSC, Utility, Landing crafts
  • Thorough understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements for marine assets.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, Computer skill
  • Strong team player with problem-solving skills and resilience.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to take initiative.
