Job Purpose

Lead Commercial Engineer for Integrated water systems. This position will directly report to the Commercial leader MEA. This role will be responsible for developing winning proposals focused on driving profitable growth while balancing risk focused on Water and Wastewater systems for Oil & Gas industry. The role has responsibility for defining the scope, execution strategies, cost, price, terms and conditions, and following the defined risk processes. This role will work closely with the Sales team to define strategies and prioritize work among the team. Key metrics will focus on Win rate and on-time proposals.

Essential Functions:

The Lead Commercial Engineer is responsible for managing the proposal process for equipment and services solutions from lead qualification to contract signature and working with the Projects team till the completion of the basic engineering and placement of long lead supplier Purchase orders to ensure cost rationalization in the execution phase. The focus shall be on projects related with Oil & Gas industry.

Study the inquiry/client requirement with regard to process and mechanical specifications, guarantee requirements, and evaluation criteria, and coordinate with cross-functional teams for inputs required to put together a competitive bid.

Review & compile exceptions to client specifications. Perform process calculation for equipment selection & design. Prepare technical datasheets & drawings for proposals & turnover packages. Send out inquiries to vendors to obtain price quotations. Prepare BOQ of piping and valves and other mechanical items and compile costing of the proposed system.

Respond to technical questions from clients about proposals, budgets, & estimates.

Assist/Lead client negotiations to close orders

Effective organizational and team-building skills to drive projects to successful closure by working with Sales and the necessary functions.

Knowledge of our equipment, technology, competitors, and markets for each of our product lines

Thorough understanding of project life cycle costs and project financing requirements to properly structure a deal and optimize profitability.

Ability to clearly communicate a clear value proposition in each of our offerings

Ability to structure deals including combined equipment and services.

Leading with unyielding integrity and quality

Developing technically complete, timely, and profitable bids within the region

Clear and concise communicator

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum 10-15 years of work experience in engineering, technical sales, commercial operations, or product management of water, and wastewater systems in the Oil & Gas market.

Experience in dealing with the MEA market will be an added advantage.

Fluent in English and Arabic or French, with very good written and spoken skills.

Masters/Bachelor's degree in Technical Field

Terms and Conditions negotiating experience
