About the job Head Nurse of Oncology & Hematology Area

The Head Nurse of Oncology & Hematology Area is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee all nursing care in the assigned areas, providing clinical leadership in the planning, managing and evaluating the operations of the Oncology & Hematology Area. Responsible for patient advocacy, clinical expertise, regulatory compliance and coordination of resources (human, fiscal, physical plant, etc). Collaborates with the Directors of Department to monitor clinical performance and to ensure specialty standards and operation targets are met by the department divisions. Is a role model for patient care associates within the organization and outside the organization and assists in managing all staffing concerns and resolving performance management issues. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.


Education and Experience profile:

  • Must have Bahcelor of Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution/university.
  • Must have a M.Sc. in a nursing speciality or Clinical Management or equivalent
  • Clinical Certification (i.e., RN, Radiation Therapy, Chemotherapy etc. is an asset.
  • Must have Registered with Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council or meeting the requirements for registration
  • A minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience in recognized medical centers
