About the job Nurse Supervisor Ward Manager of Oncology & Onco-Hematology
The Nurse Supervisor Ward Manager of Oncology & Onco-Hematology is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee the nursing care provided in the Oncology/Hematology Unit, has 24/7 responsibility for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units, manages Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nursing Officers and Nursing Officers. Plans, directs and coordinates oncology, hematology health services. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staffs work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the oncology/hematology and associated areas are met, resulting in best care for patients. Serves as acting Head Nurse as assigned. The incumbent will ensure transparency in all matters pertaining to facility.
Education and Experience profile:
- B.Sc. degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution/University essential.
- Post graduate cancer care, radiotherapy or chemotherapy certification will be an asset.
- Registered with Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council.
- At least six (6) years hospital experience as a registered nurse, with at least two (2) years clinical experience in oncology nursing.
