Senior Consultant of CCU

The Senior Consultant is responsible of the CCU. He/she performs the visit round and the guard shift autonomously, and autonomously prescribes diagnostic test and therapies.

The Senior Consultant reports daily to the Chief of Unit about the most recent or serious cases in the ward. The Senior Consultant will attend periodic meetings with the Chief of Cardiology Unit, cardiac surgeons and anesthetists to evaluate which procedures to adopt for the various patients belonging to the Unit.

The Senior Consultant will have outstanding clinical and teaching skills. Finally, he/she will apply all the procedure to minimize the risk of infections in accordance with Infection Prevention and Control Service and Quality & Safety Department.

Education and Experience profile:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• A M.Med. in Cardiology
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• Minimum of twelve (12) years of work experience in Cardiology, of which 3 years of experience in CCU in a general, regional referral or national referral hospital
  
• Has scientific research titles in Cardiology or related sectors
