About the job Nursing Officer of Ambulance Service

The Nursing Officer of Ambulance Service is a key member of the hospital clinical team. He / She delivers safe, competent, individualized patient centered holistic care to an optimum level, by utilizing nursing process. Assists in the management of the Ambulance Service during the assigned shift for the clinical care of patients and operation of the units. Plans, directs and coordinates emergency nursing services, sets and carries out policies, goals and procedures for the department; evaluates the quality of the staff’s work and develops reports and budgets. 
Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the Ambulance Service are met resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as the acting Nurse Supervisor during their absence.

Education and Experience profile:
  • B.Sc. Degree in Nursing essential
  • Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Trauma and Emergency preferred 
  • Minimum six (6) years as Assistant Nursing Officer in area of Specialty
  • At least three (3) years as Senior Assistant Nursing Officer
