Cardiovascular Perfusionist

The Cardiovascular Perfusionist is responsible for planning, setting up, operating and maintaining extracorporeal circulation equipment and related technologies during adult and paediatric cardiac surgery, transplant procedures, and interventional cardiology or critical care situations requiring mechanical circulatory support. The role ensures the safe management of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), myocardial protection, autotransfusion, ECMO initiation/management (where applicable), and other advanced perfusion technologies in accordance with international standards, manufacturer recommendations, ISHU policies, and JCI accreditation requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion or equivalent accredited training program.
• Bachelor degree in Anesthesia, Nursing science or equivalent programme.
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) with the Ugandan Allied Health Professional Council
• Should have at least 3 years of experience in the Ugandan healthcare system.
