About the job Occupational Health Physician
The Occupational Health Physician is responsible for promoting and maintaining the physical and mental well-being of employees through preventive health programs, risk assessments, and the management of work-related illnesses and injuries. This role involves conducting pre-employment and periodic health assessments, diagnosing occupational diseases, and advising on workplace ergonomics and safety improvements. The Occupational Health Physician collaborates with safety officers, HR, and management to create a safe and healthy work environment that meets regulatory requirements and improves overall employee productivity and satisfaction.
Education and Experience profile:
- A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery (MChB) from a recognized University is required
- M.Med in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Public Health, or Preventive Medicine
- Must be registered and licensed or meet the requirement for registration and license with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
- 3-5 years of working experience
