Key purpose:

The Operator - MMU & Plant (SSO) assists with coordinating the production and delivery of activities at their respective single site operation site plant ensuring that products are supplied to the customer in a timely and effective manner, that the operations runs effectively and smoothly with minimum labour and raw material costs and that here is good interaction with other departments of the organisation. Oversees meeting the daily, weekly and monthly downstream manufacturing production plans to ensure quality product is available as required to satisfy the S&OP, coordinates the downstream manufacturing production and assumes overall accountability for operations at the facility.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Complies with the requirements of the Our Charter, Operating procedures and standards.
  • Ensures raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled and stored according to requirements of the SDS.
  • Ensures minimum damage to the environment through waste minimisation and control
  • Reports all Unusual Incidents and Accidents immediately
  • Participates in daily Toolbox talks and Monthly Safety Meetings
  • Maintains all personal training against the Company training Matrix for your role
  • Performs other ancillary duties including relief at other locations, consistent with level of competence as reasonably instructed by the supervisor
  • Assists the client in achieving targets and maintaining production
  • Performs administration duties relating to stocktaking, product delivery, maintenance quality etc
  • Meets daily customer loading requirements and delivery quality product and service
  • Maintains equipment to ensure it is in serviceable condition
  • Ensures compliance in documented change control processes AA system.
  • Manages the Action database SHERMIS andamp; red book.
  • Ensures all incidents are promptly reported, thoroughly investigated with corrective actions implemented by facilitating the process
  • Ensures all employees LTO and LTS compliant.
  • Manages and maintains contractor inductions and passports.
  • Ensures Plant PMs are on time and recorded on SAP system.
  • Manages services, materials, budgets and fixed assets
  • Ensures forecast demands are met in full on time.
  • Ensures quality assurance and retention samples.
  • Ensures Site traffic management in place.
  • Drives stock reconciliation
  • Establishes a SHandE training schedule that includes rehearsal of emergency scenarios.
  • Identifies and supports opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures product produced meets the quality and volume requirements hourly and daily
  • Responds to and communicates deviations from production plans (including plant trip notification updates/timelines)
  • Ensures Plant operation is always within the safe operating window as defined.
  • Ensures non-compliances are reported for investigation and resolution.
  • Ensures Plant operation time maximised within the defined efficiency operating window
  • Ensures efficient use of raw materials
  • Delivers Process Planning as an integrated component of Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Executes the planned and unplanned preparation of the plant, including the necessary permit to work processes, to allow safe and efficient maintenance execution (including shutdowns).
  • Conducts regular scheduled and unscheduled plant equipment and general inspections and formalise outcomes and actions.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Generally up to 2 years experience.
  • Role dependent - technical &/or functional business system applications required for tasks (e.g. SAP, SF, Concur, analytics/visualisation tools, engineering software, etc.)
