Key purpose:

Pharmaceutical company is looking for a results-driven Hybrid Sales Representative with excellent interpersonal skills to actively seek out and engage customer prospects.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Conducting detailing of Specialists, GPs, Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Over the Counter (OTC) staff in the appropriate manner as was part of the training and stipulated in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Selling scheduled products and OTC products using solid arguments to prospective
  • customers.
  • Maintaining positive business relationships to ensure future sales.
  • Managing time and areas in a way that optimises business outcome and meeting customer needs.
  • Servicing established customers and obtaining new clients.
  • Managing all of this in a timely manner that fits into daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules
  • Present, promote and sell products using solid commercial arguments to prospective customers
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of potential customers to meet their needs
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Reach out to high potential unallocated customers
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
  • Analyse the territory/markets potential, track sales and status reports
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Conduct training with pharmacy front-shop staff to increase OTC sales
  • Sell product deals to Pharmacies
  • Use marketing material to increase brand awareness and sales
  • Conduct CRMs (customer relation management) at a breakfast or dinner outside the Pharmacy/practice environment of customers in territory as per quarterly targets set out
  • Conduct CMEs (Continual medical information) as per quarterly target set out
  • Attend/sponsor Breakfast Club meeting of Key practices in territory
  • Assist and manage attendance of customers (Healthcare professionals) to Webinars and product launches
  • Attend open day events at Key Pharmacies in Territory
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends Continuously improve through feedback
  • Ensure the prices of products are ideal for pharmacy profitability and patient affordability
  • Plan appointments with doctors and pharmacies and meet 90% of scheduled appointments
  • Conducting 9 daily calls (6 doctors and 3 pharmacies)
  • Attend 10 minutes daily huddle meetings every morning with RSC Execution of daily 4Dx lead measures:
  • Increase number of doctors prescribing our products and pharmacies placing orders
  • Ensure number of new leads results in supporting customers
  • Review Sales results in pharmacies located in allocated territories
  • Deliver daily sales as per forecasted budget
  • Daily reporting calls are captured through comments on Repwise, Smartsheet and other reports
  • Provide a comprehensive Business Analysis of territory quarterly 

Qualifications and experience:

  • Matric / highest schooling qualification
  • Degree/diploma in medical, pharmaceutical, nursing, science subjects or related fields
  • Fluent in oral and written English and Afrikaans
  • Inexperienced graduate could be considered
  • Proven work experience as a sales representative would be an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with Business relationship management (BRM) and Customer relationship management (CRM) practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales will be an advantage
  • Excellent selling, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the Healthcare professionals (HCP) needs
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
