About the job Senior Conveyancer

The role holder supports the offshore Conveyancing Underwriting matters and will be based in the Durban office, attending to title underwriting matters in various countries within a range of scenarios across their provinces including (end-to-end underwriting processes, title reviews, survey reviews, property report inspections, fraud identification and ad hoc underwriting issues). Primary responsibilities include assessing deals as they are received into the software application, reviewing the deal summary and documents, attending to property and seller searches, investigating and requesting for further necessary information/documents, reporting on deals, and confirming deals for auto-processing. The role holder will need to possess excellent attention to detail as secondary decisions are based on the underwriters review of information.

  • Undertaking end-to-end conveyancing underwriting processes for offshore clients
  • Verification and compliance checks for purchasers / borrowers
  • Liaising with offshore law firms and other stakeholders regarding deals
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters
  • Good planning to ensure daily/weekly tasks and reports are completed
  • Identify and track fraud alerts
  • Delivering on all Client and Companies agreed targets and SLAs
  • Providing continuous improvement insights and reports
  • Researching global property legal concepts, rules and regulations
  • Completed LLB or BA(Law)
  • Court order confirming Conveyancer admission date
  • Minimum of 3 years experience of conveyancing / property law, gained in a legal firm or insurance company
