Accountant

A leading multinational company in its industry is looking to strengthen its Finance team by recruiting an Accounting Technician.

CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the accurate recording of accounting transactions in accordance with Portuguese Accounting Standards (SNC) and the Group's accounting policies;
• Preparing accounting journal entries;
• Performing bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations;
• Managing fixed asset accounting, including the calculation and recording of depreciation;
• Preparing accruals, prepayments and provisions;
• Supporting the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes;
• Participating in the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes;
• Preparing supporting documentation for tax compliance, particularly VAT, ensuring compliance with Portuguese tax legislation;
• Supporting external audits and maintaining accurate and organised accounting documentation;
• Ensuring compliance with internal control procedures and contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes.

PROFILE

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field;
• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in accounting roles;
• Previous experience in a multinational environment will be considered an advantage;
• Solid knowledge of Portuguese Accounting Standards (SNC) and Portuguese tax legislation;
• Experience with SAP will be considered an asset;
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
• Good command of English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment;
• High level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail;
• Strong analytical skills, team spirit, sense of responsibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
