Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems & Network Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam. This role bridges the gap between hardware engineering, cloud platform integration, and robust infrastructure storage. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining SDKs and APIs that connect software applications to the Cisco Meraki cloud, developing key dashboard features, and ensuring the absolute integrity and availability of our underlying storage and backup systems.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Integration & Feature Development

• SDK & API Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain high-performance SDKs and APIs to seamlessly connect software applications with hardware layers and the Meraki cloud ecosystem.
• Dashboard Evolution: Contribute directly to both front-end and back-end components for Security, SD-WAN, and core switching features within the Meraki Dashboard.
• Network Protocol Management: Develop, optimize, and manage complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols, including VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Routing, and dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 environments.
• Automation at Scale: Write advanced automation scripts and design webhooks/custom payload templates to streamline and scale global network provisioning.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex, customer-impacting issues within highly distributed systems. Write rigorous automated tests to reproduce bugs and validate fixes.

Storage, Backup & Business Continuity

• Infrastructure Optimization: Monitor, maintain, and continuously optimize enterprise storage and backup systems.
• Disaster Recovery: Guarantee data availability, data integrity, and robust disaster recovery capabilities to ensure seamless business continuity.
• Compliance & Security: Perform regular system audits and compliance checks to maintain strict security standards across all data repositories.
• Storage Support: Act as the escalation point to troubleshoot and resolve deep-tier storage and backup-related technical issues.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: 8–10 years of proven experience in systems engineering, cloud platform integration, or network architecture.
• Platform Expertise: Deep hands-on experience developing for or managing the Cisco Meraki ecosystem.
• Networking Mastery: Strong knowledge of L2/L3 protocols (VLAN, STP, OSPF/BGP routing, IPv4/IPv6).
• Automation & Coding: Proficiency in writing automation scripts and working with APIs, webhooks, and modern payload templates.
• Storage Systems: Solid experience managing enterprise-grade storage arrays, backup solutions, and data replication strategies.
• Methodology: Strong background in supporting distributed systems, reliability engineering, and writing test suites for complex software/hardware integrations.
