Senior Java Developer / Java Architect

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer / Java Architect to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using modern Java and cloud technologies. The role combines hands-on development, system design, integration, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java 8+ / Spring Boot microservices.
• Design REST/SOAP APIs, messaging systems, and enterprise integrations.
• Define scalable architectures with focus on performance, security, availability, and fault tolerance.
• Evaluate technologies and support modernization of legacy applications.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and contribute to DevOps practices.
• Support applications throughout their full lifecycle, including post-go-live maintenance.
• Perform architectural and code reviews and mentor senior developers.
• Work closely with customers and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to an Agile development environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST/SOAP.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Maven, Jenkins, and Docker.
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging technologies is a plus.
• Strong system design and analytical skills.
• Proven customer-facing experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Work Arrangement

• Location: Brussels, Belgium
• Hybrid: 1 day per week on-site.
• Start Date: 2 October 2026
• Duration: 6 months
