We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cisco SD-WAN Engineer / Architect to lead the design, engineering, and optimization of a global SD-WAN environment. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on driving the transition from traditional routing infrastructures to modern software-defined WAN architectures using Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela).

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Cisco SD-WAN technologies, advanced routing, network automation, and large-scale enterprise migrations.

Key Responsibilities

SD-WAN Architecture & Design

• Design scalable, secure, and resilient Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) solutions.
• Architect SD-WAN fabrics with:
  • Transport independence
  • Integrated security
  • Application-aware routing
  • High availability and resiliency
• Define and enforce global configuration standards and governance frameworks.

Engineering Leadership

• Lead technical deployment activities for:
  • vManage
  • vBond
  • vSmart
  • vEdge / cEdge devices
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams.
• Support enterprise-wide SD-WAN migration initiatives.

POC & Innovation

• Lead Proof of Concept (POC) evaluations for new SD-WAN capabilities and enhancements.
• Evaluate advanced technologies including:
  • Cloud OnRamp for SaaS/IaaS
  • Application-aware routing
  • Secure cloud connectivity

Lifecycle Engineering & Optimization

• Drive continuous improvements to SD-WAN performance, security, and operational efficiency.
• Optimize low-latency and hybrid-cloud connectivity across global environments.
• Ensure platform stability, scalability, and operational excellence.

NetDevOps & Automation

• Architect and implement automation solutions using:
  • Python
  • REST APIs (vManage APIs)
  • Terraform
  • Ansible
• Enable Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

• Expert-level experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) architecture and engineering.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Overlay networking
  • Control plane orchestration
  • Policy-based routing
• Advanced routing and switching expertise including:
  • BGP
  • OSPF
  • EIGRP
  • IPSec
• Proven experience leading:
  • Enterprise SD-WAN migrations
  • Complex network transformation initiatives
  • Technical POCs and lab validations
• Strong automation and scripting experience using:
  • Python
  • REST APIs
  • Terraform
  • Ansible

Preferred Skills

• Experience with:
  • Cloud OnRamp for AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Zscaler integrations (SASE)
  • Cisco Umbrella
• Relevant certifications such as:
  • CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure
  • Cisco DevNet Professional
