Agile Program Manager – Automation

We are looking for an experienced Agile Program Manager to structure, coordinate, and drive a portfolio of digitalisation and automation initiatives within a public-sector environment. The role focuses on improving efficiency, interoperability, security, and automation of critical back-end services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and allocate work across a multidisciplinary Agile team.
  • Structure, prioritise, and sequence projects and initiatives based on strategic objectives, dependencies, and business value.
  • Manage BAU and unplanned work while maintaining roadmap coherence.
  • Establish pragmatic governance, including reporting, risk management, dependencies, and key ceremonies.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across Strategy, PMO, architecture, security, and business teams.
  • Prepare and facilitate steering committees and programme increments.
  • Monitor progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes.
  • Coach team members and support knowledge transfer and future team autonomy.
  • Ensure alignment with organisational strategy, roadmap, and programme objectives.
  • Take a hands-on and pragmatic approach to resolving issues and ensuring tangible results.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Program and Project Management in complex or public-sector environments.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies and multi-project environments.
  • Experience with people management in non-hierarchical settings.
  • Strong expertise in governance, planning, prioritisation, risk management, and dependency management.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex contexts and business priorities.
  • Strong coaching and knowledge-transfer skills.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Comfortable combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Fluent in French and Dutch.
  • Strong team-player and leadership skills.

Work Arrangement

  • Location: Brussels, Belgium
  • Start: 14 September 2026
  • Duration: 4 months, with possible extension
  • Full-time: 5 days/week
  • Hybrid: Remote work possible depending on mission requirements, with on-site presence required at key moments.
