Senior M365 Messaging & Security Engineer

We are looking for a Senior IT System Engineer with extensive experience in Microsoft messaging environments, secure integrations, and M365 security architectures within complex multi-forest and multi-tenant environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support secure M365 and messaging infrastructures
• Manage and secure SMTP flows through Exchange Online and Fortimail
• Configure and maintain anti-spam, quarantine, blacklisting, and mail protection mechanisms
• Implement secure integrations between M365 and third-party systems
• Manage identity protection and synchronization across multi-forest environments
• Develop and automate processes using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and scripting tools
• Support advanced Microsoft Purview features including:
  • Data Lifecycle Management
  • Auditing
  • eDiscovery
  • Information Barriers
• Troubleshoot complex Outlook, Exchange Online, and hybrid cloud/on-premise environments
• Monitor security alerts and support investigations with security teams
• Create technical documentation, standards, procedures, and architecture designs
• Contribute to roadmap planning, technology watch, and infrastructure improvements

Required Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of experience in messaging and collaboration technologies
• Strong expertise in:
  • Exchange Online
  • Microsoft 365 & Outlook
  • Entra ID / Entra Connect
  • Fortimail
  • SMTP and mTLS
  • Microsoft Graph
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud
  • Microsoft Purview
• Deep understanding of hybrid cloud/on-premise integrations and certificate management
• Experience in complex multi-tenant, multi-domain, and multi-forest environments
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and security best practices

Certifications (Preferred)

• MS-203: Microsoft 365 Messaging
• AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals
• ITIL Foundation

Profile

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
• Experience managing complex technical requests and infrastructure projects
• Excellent documentation and communication skills

Languages

• French and Dutch: professional proficiency
• English: full professional proficiency

Work Setup

• Hybrid working model with minimum 2 days onsite per week
• Location: Brussels
