About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior VMware & Compute Infrastructure Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise compute environments. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in VMware, Hyper-V, and modern infrastructure automation, working within an Agile SAFe environment.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Architecture & Design

• Lead the design and implementation of on-premises compute infrastructure using Cisco UCS, VMware, Hyper-V, and SCVMM
• Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across multiple data centers
• Define and maintain architecture standards, best practices, and documentation

VMware (L3 Advanced Responsibilities)

• Design and review complex VMware (vSphere, vSAN, NSX) architectures
• Troubleshoot ESXi host issues, vCenter failures, and VM performance problems
• Optimize environments using DRS, affinity rules, and resource pools
• Automate VM lifecycle management using PowerCLI or Python
• Implement security hardening and RBAC policies
• Plan and execute upgrades and patching with minimal downtime
• Design and test disaster recovery solutions (e.g., VMware SRM)
• Support hybrid cloud integrations (AWS / Azure VMware solutions)

Hyper-V & SCVMM

• Design and manage large-scale Hyper-V environments via SCVMM
• Troubleshoot clustering, provisioning, and live migration issues
• Automate operations using PowerShell and orchestration tools
• Manage templates, logical networks, and service templates
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and patch management
• Contribute to disaster recovery and backup strategies

Automation & Cloud

• Drive automation initiatives using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices
• Work with private and hybrid cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)

Agile & Leadership

• Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and product owners
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers
• Contribute to strategic infrastructure roadmap and technology evaluation

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering/architecture
• Strong expertise in VMware (vSphere, vSAN, NSX)
• Hands-on experience with Hyper-V and SCVMM
• Advanced scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
• Experience working in SAFe Agile environments
