About the Role
We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow ITOM Specialist with strong expertise in CMDB (Configuration Management Database) to support and enhance an existing IT environment.
This assignment focuses on strengthening, structuring, and optimizing CMDB operations, both from a technical and process perspective. You will also play a key role in ensuring long-term sustainability through knowledge transfer and team enablement.
What You'll Do
You will:
- Support the implementation, optimization, and management of the CMDB within ServiceNow ITOM
- Ensure accurate, complete, and high-quality onboarding of assets (infrastructure, applications, etc.)
- Improve CMDB structure, data quality, and governance processes
- Define and align CI models, relationships, and standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen CMDB practices and adoption
- Provide coaching and guidance to internal stakeholders
- Deliver a train-the-trainer approach, enabling long-term internal ownership
- Contribute to documentation, guidelines, and best practices
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 8 years of experience in relevant IT technologies or similar environments
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow (ITOM modules)
- Proven experience with CMDB implementation and configuration
- Strong knowledge of CMDB data modelling, CI relationships, and data quality management
- Experience with asset onboarding and structuring within CMDB environments
- Solid understanding of ITIL principles, especially Configuration Management
- Experience in coaching and mentoring teams
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, structured guidance
- Fluent in Dutch (CEFR C2 level required)
Nice to Have
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and/or Service Mapping
- Experience with CMDB governance frameworks and operating models
- Background in developing training materials or documentation
- Experience delivering train-the-trainer programs
Work Environment
You will work within a collaborative IT environment, supporting internal teams and helping establish a sustainable and scalable CMDB practice. This is an on-site role, with a strong focus on teamwork, knowledge transfer, and long-term capability building.
