About the organization and team

The organization is a leading European grid operator playing a central role in the energy transition. With extensive high-voltage infrastructure and a large professional workforce, the focus is on enabling a stable and sustainable energy supply.

You will be positioned within the DTT Operate Domain Office and deployed in the IT Value Chain Market Services. This value chain covers the full digital chain: from customer interaction and onboarding to market processes and invoicing. Data quality, compliance, and transparency are key pillars.

You will join a team of IT Architects responsible for ensuring coherence, direction, and quality of architecture within the domain. Together, the team defines and governs architectural direction across multiple value streams.

The Position

Purpose of the role

As an IT Architect, you are responsible for developing, maintaining, and evolving the domain and chain architecture. You connect strategic business goals with enterprise architecture frameworks and technical implementation, ensuring a scalable, cohesive, and future-proof IT landscape.

You operate at both tactical and strategic levels, advising management and portfolio boards, and driving architecture principles, roadmaps, and standards. You define technological direction and accelerate innovation in close collaboration with operations, market parties, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain domain architecture within the IT Value Chain Market Services and ensure cross-chain alignment.
  • Define multi-year architecture and technology roadmaps and advise portfolio boards on priorities and investments.
  • Define, monitor, and enforce architecture principles, patterns, and standards.
  • Make architectural decisions and manage risks (e.g., security, lifecycle management, vendor lock-in).
  • Act as a sparring partner for enterprise architecture, management, and key stakeholders.
  • Identify new technologies and guide innovation, proof-of-concepts, and adoption processes.
  • Represent architecture in cross-domain discussions and maintain architecture documentation.

Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an IT Architect, Senior Engineer, or Technical Lead.
  • Experience in solution, domain, or platform architecture within an Agile/DevOps environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, integration patterns, security by design, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or related field.

Practical Information

  • Role involves partial on-site presence (approximately 2 days per week, including a fixed office day).
  • The selection process may include up to two interview rounds.
