API Test Automation Analyst

Contract Duration: 6 Months
We are looking for an experienced API Test Automation Analyst with 8–10 years of experience to join a dynamic project in Brussels. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API automation testing, Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber, with experience delivering high-quality testing solutions in Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated API test frameworks using Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber.
- Create comprehensive test cases covering functional, regression, integration, positive/negative, and data-driven scenarios.
- Validate RESTful APIs, including authentication, request/response validation, and error handling.
- Develop mock services using Mockito and WireMock to support testing activities.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Perform API contract testing using Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Support database validation and integration testing where required.
- Identify gaps in test coverage and drive continuous improvement in testing practices.
- Document defects, test results, and quality metrics while mentoring junior team members.
Required Skills
- 8–10 years of experience in software testing and test automation.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber.
- Strong knowledge of API functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Git, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of Swagger/OpenAPI and API contract testing.
- Experience with mocking frameworks such as Mockito and WireMock.
- Familiarity with Oracle databases and mainframe integrations is an advantage.
- Understanding of performance testing and OWASP security principles.
- Experience in financial services, banking, or mortgage lending is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Fluent in English.
