API Test Automation Analyst

We are looking for an experienced API Test Automation Analyst with 8–10 years of experience to join a dynamic project in Brussels. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API automation testing, Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber, with experience delivering high-quality testing solutions in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated API test frameworks using Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber.
  • Create comprehensive test cases covering functional, regression, integration, positive/negative, and data-driven scenarios.
  • Validate RESTful APIs, including authentication, request/response validation, and error handling.
  • Develop mock services using Mockito and WireMock to support testing activities.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Perform API contract testing using Swagger/OpenAPI.
  • Support database validation and integration testing where required.
  • Identify gaps in test coverage and drive continuous improvement in testing practices.
  • Document defects, test results, and quality metrics while mentoring junior team members.

Required Skills

  • 8–10 years of experience in software testing and test automation.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber.
  • Strong knowledge of API functional, regression, and integration testing.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Git, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of Swagger/OpenAPI and API contract testing.
  • Experience with mocking frameworks such as Mockito and WireMock.
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases and mainframe integrations is an advantage.
  • Understanding of performance testing and OWASP security principles.
  • Experience in financial services, banking, or mortgage lending is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Fluent in English.
