About the Role

Join a leading media organization and help shape the digital experience of millions of users. As a Backend Developer, you will contribute to the systems behind widely used digital platforms, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

You'll be part of a dynamic product team responsible for critical services such as user authentication, profile management, and push notifications across multiple digital applications.

Your Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership: from concept and development to testing and release
  • Build and maintain high-quality, scalable backend systems
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and/or event-driven architectures
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and best practices
  • Work within a Scrum/Agile environment
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure as code
  • Ensure code quality through testing (unit, integration, E2E)
  • Collaborate closely with team members and share knowledge

Tech Stack

  • Languages: Java (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data, Hibernate/JPA), Go, TypeScript, JavaScript
  • Cloud: AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, )
  • Identity & Security: OIDC, OAuth2, SAP Customer Data Cloud (Gigya)
  • Testing: JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Playwright
  • Tools: GitHub, Jenkins, Docker

Your Profile

Must-Have

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Backend Developer
  • Strong expertise in Java (Spring ecosystem)
  • Experience with REST APIs and/or event-driven systems
  • Familiar with Git and code reviews
  • Solid knowledge of testing (unit, integration, E2E)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of Go
  • Experience with identity & access management (OIDC, OAuth2, SAML)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Fluent in Dutch (C2 level)
