Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cyber Security Architect / Strategic Cyber Advisor to lead and influence large-scale cyber security transformation initiatives within regulated environments. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic advisory capability, and executive-level engagement.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, shaping enterprise-wide security strategies, driving risk-informed decision-making, and ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory and threat landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of enterprise security architecture across complex, hybrid environments
• Advise executive stakeholders and board members on cyber risk, regulatory exposure, and investment strategy
• Shape and influence large-scale cyber transformation programmes (valued €5M–€100M)
• Develop and implement identity-led security architectures (IAM, PAM, Zero Trust)
• Oversee SOC-driven cyber defence models, including SIEM, XDR, and threat-led response
• Provide strategic guidance on cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Drive initiatives in data security, privacy engineering, and AI-enabled security controls
• Assess and manage cyber threat intelligence and incident response strategies
• Advise on AI security risks, governance, and regulatory implications
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including post-quantum cryptography, and their long-term impact
• Contribute to and lead response efforts during major cyber incidents or breach scenarios

Required Experience & Skills

Experience

• 12–20 years of experience in cyber security or enterprise security architecture
• Prior roles such as:
  • Security Architect
  • Head of Security Architecture
  • CISO / Deputy CISO
  • Principal Cyber Security Consultant
• Extensive experience in regulated industries
• Proven track record in large-scale cyber transformation programmes
• Hands-on experience managing major security incidents and breaches

Technical Expertise

• Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Zero Trust architectures
• Security Operations Centers (SOC), including SIEM and XDR
• Cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Data security, privacy engineering, and AI-driven security solutions
• Cyber threat intelligence and infrastructure security
• Strong understanding of AI security risks and governance
• Awareness of quantum computing impacts on security strategy

Commercial & Advisory Skills

• Ability to shape cyber programmes valued between €5M–€100M
• Strong capability to communicate risk reduction and ROI on security investments
• Proven ability to influence executive-level decisions
• Trusted advisor mindset, focusing on strategic outcomes over tools
