About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to design and guide secure, scalable, and reliable cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions within a complex public-sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and validate Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Develop cloud standards, landing zones, governance, and infrastructure strategies.
  • Design Azure networking, including VNets, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPN and ExpressRoute.
  • Define cloud security and Identity & Access Management architectures, including Zero Trust, Entra ID and RBAC.
  • Design solutions for backup, disaster recovery, high availability and business continuity.
  • Support container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift and AKS.
  • Implement and promote Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell or Azure CLI.
  • Establish monitoring, logging and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Defender for Cloud.
  • Ensure effective integration between on-premise infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Provide architectural guidance, documentation and knowledge transfer to technical teams.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, database and project teams.

Requirements

  • Expert-level experience with Microsoft Azure Architecture and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure networking, cloud security and IAM.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform/Bicep and cloud automation.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes/container platforms.
  • Experience with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization and enterprise storage.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Dutch, French and English proficiency.

  • Start: 1 October 2026
  • Duration: Until end of 2026, extendable
  • Workload: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Location: Brussels
  • Work model: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week onsite
