Senior Functional Analyst – GroundStar SME (Functional Testing)

Contract / Full-time Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced GroundStar Functional SME to join a major ground operations migration programme in Amsterdam. This is a senior role for someone who understands Inform GroundStar (IGS) beyond testing — someone who understands how airline ground handling operations work and can ensure the system delivers real operational value.

As the Functional SME, you will take ownership of functional testing quality from strategy definition through to go-live sign-off, ensuring migrated processes are operationally correct and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

Own and drive the functional test strategy and execution across ground handling operations
Validate GroundStar behaviour including:

• Task generation and assignment
• Scheduling rules
• Optimizer behaviour
• Shift planning and allocations
• End-to-end operational workflows

Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, impact assessment, and regression decisions
Define and maintain functional test cases, traceability, and evidence documentation
Ensure testing meets go-live quality standards
Provide guidance and quality assurance to junior test resources
Work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and programme teams to resolve issues

Required Experience & Skills:

8–10 years of experience in functional analysis/testing roles
Deep hands-on expertise with Inform GroundStar (IGS) — including rules engine, task logic, and optimizer functionality (mandatory)
Proven experience leading functional testing for a GroundStar implementation, upgrade, or migration
Strong understanding of airline ground handling operations and operational processes
Ability to assess defect severity, regression impact, and go-live readiness
Experience working independently within complex, multi-stakeholder environments

Nice to Have:

Dutch language skills are an advantage
