Big Data Engineer – Database Performance Audit (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Big Data Engineer to support a large-scale technical audit of a complex distributed application ecosystem. The assignment focuses on evaluating database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and assessing data architecture within a microservices-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze PostgreSQL database performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Investigate slow queries, indexing strategies, locking issues, and database contention.
- Review database schemas, replication mechanisms, reporting views, and data synchronization processes.
- Assess the impact of data migration and document migration activities on system performance and data consistency.
- Identify technical risks affecting performance, maintainability, and operational resilience.
- Contribute to audit findings, technical assessments, and actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and audit team members to provide evidence-based conclusions.

Required Skills
- Expert-level PostgreSQL performance analysis.
- Strong expertise in query optimization, indexing, locking analysis, and database troubleshooting.
- Proven experience auditing application databases in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Ability to analyze complex distributed systems and high-volume data platforms.
- Strong understanding of data consistency, replication, and migration challenges.
Profile
- Extensive experience in database performance auditing and optimization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in French (C2 level required).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary audit team.
- Experience in large-scale Java/Spring Boot environments is highly desirable.
Location & Work Model
- Hybrid work arrangement.
- On-site presence required during key project phases and workshops.
