Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced NetApp Storage Consultant to design, implement, manage, and support enterprise storage environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in NetApp storage technologies, ONTAP architecture, storage migrations, and enterprise data infrastructure in mission-critical environments.

This role involves hands-on engineering, storage architecture design, troubleshooting, upgrades, migrations, and vendor coordination across complex enterprise storage ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

NetApp Storage Administration

• Design, implement, and support NetApp storage environments.
• Work with NetApp platforms including:
  • FAS / AFF
  • StorageGRID
  • E-Series
  • SolidFire
  • Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) / Cloud Backup Service (CBS)
• Manage and optimize enterprise NAS/SAN storage environments.
• Perform storage provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.

Architecture & Design

• Develop High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) for storage solutions.
• Build storage architecture building blocks for enterprise services.
• Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for new NetApp features and technologies.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and resilience of storage infrastructure.

Storage Operations & Engineering

• Perform new hardware setup validation and configuration.
• Manage disk partitioning, storage layout, and logical network configuration.
• Execute storage migrations from legacy to new NetApp platforms.
• Perform firmware upgrades on:
  • NetApp storage systems
  • Cisco MDS SAN switches
• Troubleshoot post-migration and upgrade issues with minimal downtime.
• Decommission legacy storage systems safely and efficiently.

SAN, Networking & Integration

• Manage FC SAN environments using Cisco MDS switches.
• Ensure proper storage networking configuration and performance optimization.
• Integrate NetApp storage with VMware and enterprise workloads.
• Support Rubrik backup integration and Azure cloud connectivity.

Automation & Monitoring

• Use automation tools such as:
  • Ansible
  • Rundeck
• Work with NetApp Data Infrastructure Insights for monitoring and analytics.
• Support storage automation initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability.

Enterprise Operations

• Work in mission-critical enterprise environments with high availability requirements.
• Follow ITSM processes for incident, change, and problem management.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers.
• Ensure adherence to operational and security standards.

Required Skills

Must-Have

• 6–8 years of experience in enterprise storage administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with NetApp technologies:
  • ONTAP
  • FAS / AFF
  • StorageGRID
  • E-Series
  • SolidFire
  • CVO / CBS
• Experience in designing HLD/LLD storage architectures.
• Experience with storage migrations and upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of FC SAN and Cisco MDS switches.
• VMware integration experience.
• ITSM process experience.
• Experience in troubleshooting mission-critical storage environments.

Preferred Skills

• Automation experience using Ansible and Rundeck.
• Experience with Azure cloud integration.
• Experience with Rubrik backup environments.
• Knowledge of NetApp Data Infrastructure Insights.
• Experience in vendor coordination and enterprise project delivery.
