About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SD-WAN Engineer to lead the architectural vision and engineering execution of a global SD-WAN environment. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on transitioning legacy networking infrastructure to a modern, software-defined WAN architecture.

The ideal candidate will oversee the full SD-WAN lifecycle, including architecture, Proof of Concept (POC), deployment engineering, automation, optimization, and continuous enhancement of the global network fabric.

Key Responsibilities

SD-WAN Architecture & Design

• Design scalable, resilient, and secure Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) solutions
• Develop WAN architectures with transport independence and integrated security
• Define global SD-WAN standards, templates, and policy frameworks

Technical Leadership

• Lead and guide engineering teams during SD-WAN deployments and migrations
• Oversee deployment and configuration of:
  • vManage
  • vBond
  • vSmart
  • vEdge/cEdge devices
• Provide technical governance and ensure best practices across the environment

Proof of Concept & Innovation

• Lead technical evaluations and Proof of Concept initiatives
• Assess and implement advanced SD-WAN capabilities including:
  • Cloud OnRamp
  • Application-aware routing
  • Secure internet breakout solutions

Automation & NetDevOps

• Architect and implement automation solutions using:
  • vManage APIs
  • Python
  • Terraform
  • Ansible
• Enable Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and automated policy management
• Improve operational efficiency through infrastructure automation

Lifecycle Engineering

• Drive continuous improvements and optimization activities
• Ensure high performance, low latency, scalability, and network resilience
• Support modernization initiatives across the WAN environment

Required Skills & Experience

• Expert-level experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela)
• Strong knowledge of SD-WAN overlay architecture and control plane orchestration
• Advanced expertise in:
  • BGP
  • OSPF
  • EIGRP
  • IPSec
• Proven experience leading large-scale SD-WAN migrations
• Strong experience with REST APIs and Python automation
• Hands-on experience in enterprise networking and hybrid-cloud connectivity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cloud OnRamp for AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Familiarity with Zscaler (SASE) or Cisco Umbrella integrations
• Experience with DevLab or POC environments
• Relevant certifications such as:
  • CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure
  • Cisco DevNet Professional
