DPI Integration Project Manager / Healthcare IT Architect

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare IT Consultant to support the analysis, solution architecture, and pre-implementation activities related to the deployment of a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR/EHR) platform within a complex hospital environment. The consultant will help define the target architecture, interoperability strategy, governance model, implementation roadmap, and transition approach required for a successful deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing clinical workflows, applications, and system integrations.
  • Define target solution architectures and interoperability models.
  • Lead workshops, interviews, and stakeholder sessions with clinical, nursing, pharmacy, IT, biomedical, and management teams.
  • Develop integration strategies for clinical, administrative, financial, laboratory, imaging, and medication management systems.
  • Support data migration planning, master data governance, and information management.
  • Assess infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity management, and business continuity requirements.
  • Document risks, dependencies, assumptions, mitigation plans, and implementation strategies.
  • Prepare architecture documentation, process models, implementation plans, and steering committee presentations.
  • Coordinate with software vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support change management and implementation readiness activities.

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in Healthcare IT projects.
  • Proven experience with at least three different Electronic Patient Record (EPR/EHR) systems.
  • Experience designing solutions for multi-site hospital groups.
  • Strong background in healthcare interoperability and integration projects.
  • Experience working with both healthcare providers and software vendors/integrators.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience integrating hospital systems such as:
    • EPR/EHR
    • ADT/TARFAC
    • ERP
    • Pharmacy systems
    • Laboratory systems
    • Radiology systems

Technical Skills

  • Healthcare interoperability standards: HL7, FHIR, DICOM, IHE.
  • Enterprise and solution architecture.
  • Business Process Modeling (BPM).
  • Data migration and master data management.
  • Cybersecurity, identity management, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare digital ecosystems and eHealth frameworks.

Certifications

  • PRINCE2 Foundation (required/preferred).
  • PMBOK certification (required/preferred).

Soft Skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage clinical and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation capabilities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset.
  • Vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to bridge clinical, operational, and technical teams.

Work Arrangement

  • Part-time assignment (approximately 2 days per week).
  • Hybrid working model with up to 50% remote work.
  • Regular presence required across multiple hospital sites in Brussels.
