We're recruiting an organised and analytical Reporting & Insights Officer to support Southern Housing with performance reporting, data analysis and the production of accurate management information. This role combines reporting, data quality checks and stakeholder collaboration to help teams understand service performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, bringing together information, investigating trends and presenting findings clearly to support informed decisions and better services for residents.
About the Role
As Reporting & Insights Officer, you'll support the preparation and delivery of regular reports, performance measures and analysis. You'll help ensure information is accurate, consistent and presented in a way that makes it useful to both operational teams and managers.

- Collecting, organising and analysing data from relevant systems and reporting sources to support service monitoring and decision-making.
- Preparing regular performance reports and management information, ensuring outputs are accurate, clearly presented and delivered within agreed deadlines.
- Supporting the maintenance and development of dashboards, helping colleagues monitor key performance indicators and understand changes over time.
- Checking data quality and investigating discrepancies, working with relevant teams to resolve missing, inconsistent or inaccurate information.
- Identifying trends, patterns and areas of concern, providing clear commentary to explain findings and highlight matters requiring further investigation.
- Responding to information and analysis requests, clarifying requirements and producing appropriate reports or summaries.
- Working with service managers and operational colleagues, helping translate business questions into useful reporting outputs.
- Maintaining reporting definitions and process documentation, supporting consistent calculations and interpretation of performance measures.
- Contributing to reporting improvements, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual work and strengthen accuracy.
- Handling sensitive information responsibly, following organisational confidentiality, data protection and information-sharing procedures.
Requirements
We're looking for a proactive, detail-focused and solutions-oriented individual who enjoys working with information and turning complex data into clear, practical findings.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in reporting, data analysis, performance monitoring or a related business support role.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including confidence organising, checking and analysing data.
- Experience producing reports, dashboards or management information for operational teams or managers.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate their causes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret trends and explain what the data shows.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting findings to non-technical colleagues.
- Experience working with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver useful information.
- Good organisational skills, including the ability to manage recurring reporting deadlines alongside additional requests.
- Awareness of confidentiality and responsible information handling, particularly when working with personal or sensitive data.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and the ability to provide employment references and complete the required pre-employment checks.
