Job Title: Senior Data Modeler

Scope: The key focus of the position is to design and implement data models that effectively represent and organize complex data structures, supporting data integration, analysis, and reporting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Data Modeling: Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that accurately represent the organization's data requirements, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and performance.
• Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, and data engineers to understand data requirements, business rules, and data usage patterns.
• Data Analysis: Analyze existing data sources and systems to identify data-related issues, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement. Conduct data profiling and data quality assessments.
• Data Modeling Standards: Define and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure consistency and maintainability across data models.
• Database Design: Work closely with database administrators and data engineers to translate data models into physical databases, including table structures, indexes, views, and constraints.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and optimize data models for performance, scalability, and efficiency. Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data access, retrieval, and storage strategies.
• Data Governance: Contribute to data governance initiatives by establishing and maintaining data naming conventions, data standards, and data lineage documentation.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and developers, to understand their data needs and ensure data models meet their requirements. Communicate complex data modeling concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Data Modeling Tools: Utilize industry-standard data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner) to create and manage data models. Familiarity with version control systems for data models is a plus.
• Emerging Technologies: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data modeling and database technologies. Proactively identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and techniques to enhance data modeling processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Modeler, Data Architect, or similar role.
• Strong expertise in data modeling concepts and techniques, including conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner.
• Solid understanding of relational database concepts and SQL. Experience with database platforms like Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL is preferred.
• Familiarity with dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts is a plus.
• Experience with data modeling for big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop) and NoSQL databases is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical data models.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
• Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Working Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM (From Sunday to Thursday).
• Working Model: Hybrid (One or two days on-site).
