Job Title: Senior Data Quality Engineer
Scope: The key focus of the position is to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data through the development and implementation of quality control processes and procedures.
- Data Quality Framework: Design, develop, and maintain a data quality framework that encompasses data profiling, data validation, and data cleansing processes.
- Data Quality Standards: Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data quality standards and requirements. Establish data quality metrics and thresholds to measure and monitor data quality.
- Data Profiling and Assessment: Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies. Develop data quality assessment strategies and techniques.
- Data Validation: Create and execute data validation scripts and processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Implement automated data validation mechanisms.
- Data Cleansing: Develop and implement data cleansing processes and strategies to rectify data quality issues. Collaborate with data engineers to execute data cleansing activities.
- Data Quality Monitoring: Establish data quality monitoring systems and implement proactive alerting mechanisms to detect and resolve data quality issues in a timely manner.
- Data Governance: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and practices. Collaborate with data governance teams to align data quality initiatives with organizational data governance frameworks.
- Data Documentation: Document data quality rules, validation processes, and data lineage. Maintain data quality documentation and ensure accessibility to stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand their data quality requirements and provide guidance on data quality improvement.
- Data Quality Training: Provide training and guidance to data stakeholders on data quality best practices, data profiling techniques, and data validation methodologies.
- Emerging Technologies: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data quality tools, techniques, and emerging technologies. Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies for improved data quality processes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Quality Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong expertise in data quality assessment, data profiling, and data validation techniques.
- Proficiency in data quality tools and frameworks such as Talend Data Quality, Informatica Data Quality, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of SQL and experience working with relational databases for data validation and cleansing.
- Familiarity with data governance principles and practices.
- Experience with data quality monitoring and alerting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data quality issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling is a plus.
- Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is desirable.
