Key Responsibilities

Server & Infrastructure Administration

  • Install, configure, maintain, and patch Windows Server (and Linux where applicable) across physical and virtual environments.
  • Administer virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere / Microsoft Hyper-V), managing host resources, capacity, and virtual machine lifecycle.
  • Manage server hardware and storage (SAN/NAS) to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Maintain system uptime in line with agreed service levels and minimize unplanned downtime.

Microsoft 365 & Directory Services

  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP, ensuring a secure and well-structured directory environment.
  • Manage the Microsoft 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Handle the full user lifecycle — onboarding, role changes, and offboarding — covering accounts, licenses, mailboxes, and access rights.
  • Enforce identity and access policies, including multi-factor authentication and conditional access.

Network Administration

  • Support and maintain LAN/WAN, switches, routers, wireless access points, and structured cabling across sites.
  • Administer firewalls, VPNs, and remote-access solutions, and assist in reviewing and updating firewall and security policies.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity incidents, and coordinate with ISPs and vendors for timely resolution.

Backup, Storage & Disaster Recovery

  • Configure, monitor, and periodically test backup and recovery solutions to safeguard business data.
  • Maintain and validate disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements for critical systems.
  • Manage data retention, archiving, and restoration requests.

Information Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain endpoint protection, antivirus/EDR, patch management, and system-hardening standards.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives — including monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and incident response — in line with Group IT and ITSC direction.
  • Ensure systems comply with the Group's IT policies, governance standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain access controls and audit logs, and support periodic internal and external IT audits.

End-User & Application Support

  • Provide escalated (L2/L3) support for hardware, software, operating systems, and connectivity issues.
  • Provide infrastructure-level support for enterprise applications, including ERP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Manage IT assets, software licensing, and procurement coordination for hardware and services.

Monitoring, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively monitor systems, networks, and services using appropriate tools, and respond promptly to alerts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation — configurations, SOPs, network diagrams, asset registers, and knowledge-based articles.
  • Recommend and implement improvements that enhance reliability, performance, security, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for support, maintenance contracts, and project delivery.

3. Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in systems and network administration, preferably within a medium-to-large or multi-site organization.
  • Proven hands-on experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments.

4. Technical Skills

  • Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file and print services); working knowledge of Linux an advantage.
  • Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Entra ID).
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V).
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, Wi-Fi) and firewall/VPN administration.
  • Backup and disaster-recovery tools, with a sound understanding of storage (SAN/NAS) concepts.
  • Endpoint security, patch management, and system hardening.
  • Familiarity with ERP infrastructure (SAP) and IT service management (ITSM) practices.
  • Scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell) an advantage.

5. Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified — Windows Server / Azure / Microsoft 365 (e.g., AZ-104, MS-102, MD-102).
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
