Position Summary:

Jaffer Group is seeking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Officer – Fixed Assets to manage and maintain the companys fixed asset records, ensure accurate depreciation accounting, and support asset verification and compliance processes. The role will be responsible for maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, monitoring capitalization of assets, and ensuring proper reconciliation with the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

  • Record capitalization of fixed assets and ensure proper classification of capital and revenue expenditures.

  • Calculate and post monthly depreciation in accordance with applicable accounting policies.

  • Perform reconciliation of fixed assets with the General Ledger and investigate discrepancies.

  • Support physical verification of fixed assets and ensure proper asset tagging and documentation.

  • Process asset transfers, disposals, and write-offs in the accounting system.

  • Maintain documentation related to asset purchases, capitalization approvals, and disposals.

  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing fixed asset schedules and supporting documents.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable financial reporting standards.

  • Coordinate with procurement and other departments for proper recording and tracking of company assets.

Required Qualification

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

  • ACCA / CA (Part Qualified) / ICMA (Part Qualified) will be preferred.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in fixed asset accounting or financial reporting.

  • Experience in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) will be an advantage

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting and depreciation methods.

  • Knowledge of capitalization policies and asset lifecycle management.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems.

  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.

  • Good documentation and record management abilities.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work with deadlines.
