About the job Creative Director
Our client is within the Luxury Furniture business which is a state of the art, fully automated, one of the biggest in the region furniture plant including upholstery, cabinetry lines with a design studio in Italy, catering to global needs. The factory is located across an 84,000 sqm land plot with a built-up area of 50,000 sqm. The companys plant will manufacture a range of products including, sofas, seats, armchairs, chairs, beds, car and airplane seats, assembled and flat-pack cabinets for the local market and export customers. Additionally, the plan is to establish the presence through showrooms in strategic global markets to enhance marketing efforts.
They are looking to hire a seasoned Creative Director that will be the chief creative visionary responsible for building the identities of two distinct, globally ambitious brands from the ground up:
- A New Global Premium Furniture Brand: Architect the creative soul of a new premium brand from a blank canvas, establishing its identity as a global benchmark for Italian design and refined living.
- B2B brand: Build and establish a powerful, design-led B2B brand that shatters the norms of a commoditized market. The challenge is to forge a distinct identity that communicates superior quality and positions the company for international expansion. The mission is to build and lead a world-class creative and production engine that brings these two foundational visions to life, delivering compelling work that drives both brand equity and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Creative Vision & Strategy: Define and own the foundational creative vision, strategy, and brand identity standards for both the new premium brand and existing brand.
- Organizational Leadership: Architect and build the entire in-house creative and production organization. This includes hiring, mentoring, and developing a team of managers, designers, copywriters, and production coordinators.
- Art Direction & Production: Set the standard for art direction and oversee the hands-on production of supreme quality creative assets. This includes all sales collateral, from print materials like brochures to all digital assets, ensuring excellence across photography, website collateral, and compelling videos (both long and short form).
- Process & Workflow Ownership: Establish and streamline all creative workflows and production processes. You will own the entire lifecycle of creative projects, from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the key creative stakeholder for the entire company, collaborating closely with brand management, marketing leadership, sales, and product design to translate business needs into powerful creative solutions.
- Balancing Creativity & Functionality: Champion a creative culture that balances groundbreaking, beautiful design with a deep understanding of commercial functionality and business impact. Your work must not only inspire but also perform.
- Vendor & Agency Management: Oversee relationships with key external partners, including creative agencies, photographers, production houses, and freelancers, to ensure they deliver work that meets our brand standards.
Key Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a creative field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Creative Director, Head of Creative, or similar) where you were responsible for setting creative strategy and managing a team.
- Must have a background in premium furniture, high fashion, interior design, architecture, or a top-tier creative agency that serves premium clients.
- Possess a natural and refined appreciation for high end design, a sophisticated personal taste, and a relentless attention to detail. You intuitively understand what separates good design from great design.
- Dual-Brand Acumen - the rare ability to build two distinct brand identities simultaneously: one rooted in high-concept, emotional connection for a premium B2C brand, and another built on design authority and functional excellence to stand out in a competitive B2B market.
- Must possess an outstanding portfolio that demonstrates strategic brand building from a foundational level, exceptional art direction, and experience across both digital and physical mediums. A link to your portfolio is required.
- Direct, hands-on experience working with or in the European market, with a deep understanding of its design sensibilities and consumer landscape.
- A proven leader with experience building and scaling creative teams from the ground up. Must excel at mentoring talent and creating a positive, high-performance culture.
- A business leader who understands how to connect creative work to commercial results, manage significant budgets, and articulate the ROI of creative investment to executive stakeholders.
