About the Role
JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced Project Controller to support cost control, scheduling, forecasting, and change management. The Project Controller will work with multiple internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment with approved scope, budget, and schedule. This role is critical to supporting successful project delivery through effective project controls, reporting, and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
- General Project Controls
- Implement and improve project controls systems for large-scale projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for cost management, scheduling, and change processes.
- Track project performance using KPIs such as CPI, SPI, and earned value.
- Prepare monthly progress reports, forecasts, and trend analyses.
- Cost Management
- Maintain accurate project cost tracking and reporting tools.
- Conduct cost monitoring, forecasting, and variance/root-cause analysis.
- Manage commitments, actuals, incurred costs, and cash flow.
- Review invoices for accuracy and compliance with contracts and milestones.
- Identify and communicate potential cost risks.
- Schedule Management
- Maintain the integrated project schedule using Primavera P6.
- Support development of contract milestones and ensure alignment with the overall schedule.
- Evaluate schedule performance, identify issues, and analyze critical paths.
- Recommend corrective actions for delays or slippages.
- Validate schedules provided by contractors and external schedulers.
- Track progress on key deliverables with engineering and contractor teams.
- Change Management
- Assess and document trends, variations, and potential project impacts.
- Support the established change management process.
- Evaluate the effects of approved changes on cost and schedule.

Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls across all project phases.
- Strong analytical abilities with the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Primavera P6 (required).
- Professional certifications such as PMP or CCP (preferred).
- Familiarity with project controls software is an asset.
