Community Editor - Amman

We're hiring: Community Editor

We're looking for a skilled Community Editor to manage our social media output during night shifts and weekends. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our newsroom, ensuring our platforms remain active, responsive, and editorially sharp outside core hours.

What you'll do:

• Publish breaking news, analysis, and features across social platforms.
• Manage and upload video content (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, and more).
• Write engaging, platform-specific captions and headlines.
• Monitor live news developments and update feeds in real time.
• Moderate comments, enforce community standards, and flag issues.
• Collaborate with editors to ensure timely and accurate coverage.
• Track engagement and identify trends during your shift.
  
  
  

What we're looking for:

• Experience managing social media for a news organisation.
• Strong editorial judgement, especially on Middle East and diaspora topics.
• Confidence working independently in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Nice to have:

• Arabic language skills
• Familiarity with analytics tools and platform insights
• Understanding of video formats and optimisation
