Compensation: $100K$150K base + 17.5% Director Incentive Bonus
Location: Richmond, VA (position sits on-site at a flagship hospital campus)
Schedule: Full-time Days (rotating weekends)

What Will You Do?

Supervise and develop the Assistant Controller and accounting staff.

Organize departmental workflows, assign responsibilities, and ensure timely completion of all accounting activities.

Establish and monitor productivity goals for the accounting department.

Foster a culture of open communication within the team and with hospital leadership.

Lead month-end close processes for the hospital and related entities (COIDs).

Prepare and coordinate internal and external audits.

Reconcile and review general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.

Support budgeting processes, cost report workpapers, and ad hoc financial reporting.

Ensure strong internal controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance and documentation.

Maintain balance sheet accuracy, complete monthly balance sheet reviews, and financial attestations.

Select, train, and evaluate accounting staff to ensure technical accuracy and high-quality service.
What Will You Need?

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (required).

Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred).

3+ years of accounting experience (required).

5+ years of accounting experience with 12 years of supervisory responsibility (preferred).

Prior experience in a healthcare or highly regulated environment strongly preferred.

CPA certification preferred.

Strong understanding of internal controls, audits, and financial compliance.

Ability to lead, communicate clearly, and keep the books clean when things get busy (because they will).
