Plant Controller

Position Summary:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations and leading the accounting team to ensure compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment across the organization. This role plays a critical part in shaping fiscal policy, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, and driving data-driven decision-making in partnership with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting for corporate and government stakeholders
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, FAR, and other regulatory standards
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to support organizational growth
- Leadership & Talent Development
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team
- Manage departmental staffing, performance evaluations, and succession planning
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Cost Accounting & Analysis
- Analyze cost variances, including PPV, labor productivity, and overhead absorption
- Maintain and update standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead
- Evaluate inventory valuation and reserve requirements
- Conduct cost modeling and scenario planning for strategic initiatives
- Business Partnership & Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and engineering, to drive efficiency
- Serve as a key advisor on unit performance, budgeting, and investment planning
- Support capital expenditure plans and manage the Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) process
- Optimize working capital, inventory levels, and liquidity planning
- Deliver rolling cash forecasts and provide actionable insights to leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum 15 years of experience in accounting or finance, including at least 2 years in cost accounting
- Proven experience in manufacturing; experience in the defense industry is highly desirable
- At least 10 years in a leadership or supervisory role with strong team management skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
Salary Package:
$ 130,000.00 - 150,000.00 (US Dollar)
