About The Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Executive to oversee a group's commercial and contractual matters for major construction projects, with a focus on profitability, risk management, and strategic growth.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work very closely with senior operations teams to form collaborative approaches while driving performance and minimizing risk to the business.
  • Develop and manage project commercial strategy with effectively manage risk and opportunities 
  • Provide contractual, financial and commercial advice to the project team, advising/ensuring contractual compliances requirement.
  • Monitor and co-ordinate contractual claims and variation orders.
  • Provide inputs to help strategise and resolve complex contractual issues.
  • Oversee the contractual and commercial aspects of projects, from the pre-contract stage through to final accounts.
  • Identify and manage risks while also finding opportunities to maximise the company's advantage.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, managing the overall commercial success of the project.
  • Manage commercial and quantity surveying teams to ensure contractual and commercial functions are performed effectively.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or engineering-related discipline.
  • A professional qualification in MRICS is an advantage.
  • Minimum 15 years post-qualification experience of which 10 years at managerial level, gained from a main contractor an advantage.
  • Experience in managing a team of commercial/contracts/Subletting staff 
  • Thorough knowledge of contract language, change management and legal requirements of contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation, organisational and communication skills;
  • Significant claims management/dispute resolution experience on projects of a complex nature 
  • Excellent people and leadership skills;
  • Innovative, result-oriented, self-motivated with visionary ability.
