They are principally engaged in the core construction and property development businesses with the professional capability to undertake large integrated construction projects.
About The Role
Our client is looking for a Commercial Director to oversee the Quantity Surveying team. In charge of contractual agreements and commercial aspects of assigned projects, formulate the commercial strategies and the commercial management systems, in achieving the best interest and profit to the group.
- Lead a team of QS professionals and oversee the contract administration and commercial aspects of assigned projects.
- Monitor the tendering procedures / contractual agreements and advise Management on tender selection.
- Coordinate and supervise the project progress of external consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Formulate & establish the commercial strategies & systems, including revenue, cost, cash flow, changes, claims, subcontracting, and subletting.
- Closely monitor and report the project costs for management review timely.
- Provide pre & post-contract services including measurement, final payment certificates, settlement of final accounts, and other claims.
- Handling material sourcing, analyzing works, preparing cost analysis regularly, and Quality Control on materials purchase.
- Liaise with contractors/suppliers' material logistic schedules.
- Ensure internal guidelines are compiled.
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Degree or above in Quantity Surveying, preferably with MHKIS / MRICS professional qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience and 5 years of experience gained from main contractors.
- Previous commercial role in leading large-scale civil projects is a must.
- Experience in NEC Option C contracts is an advantage.
- Effective management of risks and opportunities.
- Excellent knowledge of QS practice and contract administration.
- Strong commercial sense, independent working, dynamic thinking.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
