Job Duties

  • Research and apply critical thinking to business trends, economic development, competitor dynamics and current events to provide relevant business insights and translate them to actionable recommendations.
  • Formulate strategies that support business growth, sustainability and capability enhancement.
  • Facilitate the annual and long-term strategic planning processes
  • Identify new business development, new business opportunities, new business models and strategic investment opportunities. Evaluate them for strategic fit for the Company, apply analytical frameworks to perform complex business analyses including feasibility analysis and financial valuation and build business cases to support decision making.
  • Participate as a core team member, either as leader or member, in management and execution of various strategic projects, working closely with relevant business units and departments. Additionally, help to define targets and put in place performance measures that will determine the effectiveness of implemented strategies and identify areas for strategic improvement.
  • Prepare monthly tracking report to monitor and evaluate execution of strategic projects.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Create clear and concise materials and presentations needed to communicate across various stakeholder groups.
  • Ad-hoc activities and support including document review, presentations, projects, etc.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related studies
  • MBA or master's degree in business-related studies is highly preferred
  • A background in Retail / Wholesale business or from top consulting firms.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Corporate Strategy, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Project Management or Business Development
  • Effective Project Management skills and strong experience in entire project lifecycle.
  • Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills with ability to analyse and draw business implications from market research, financial, and other data sources independently.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint with ability to structure complex Excel models/financial models and provide direction for others to own and manage models as required. Also able to make well-structured and easy to understand PowerPoint presentation for a wide range of audience.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively as well as independently with cross-functional teams with minimal direct supervision.
  • Good knowledge of accounting/finance concept, financial analysis, return analysis and valuation.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and yet still maintain good view on priorities and meet deadlines for all assigned projects.
  • An independent and hands-on person.
  • Comfortable driving focus and clarity in situations of ambiguity with flexibility to adapt quickly to a change in direction as needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Good knowledge of retail/wholesale related topics as well as good understanding of customer development.
