Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on financial strategy, focusing on reducing tax liabilities and improving profitability.
  • Ensure effective management and oversight of financial processes in alignment with best accounting practices.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with senior management to advise on financial decision-making and long-term financial planning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance financial efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the management of financial risks and ensure proper financial controls are in place.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in accounting, tax legislation, and financial reporting to maintain best practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records in compliance with South African accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support operational and strategic goals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • SAICA registered accountant preferred.
  • 4 - 6 years of hands-on experience in accounting, with a proven track record of strategic financial management.
  • Strong understanding of best accounting practices and financial legislation.
  • Advanced knowledge of tax laws and how to develop strategies to minimize tax burdens.
  • Experience in advising senior management on financial matters and providing insights into profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to provide actionable insights from financial data.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in the engineering sector (or similar technical industries) would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
