Our client, a prestigious boutique law firm based in Sandton, is seeking an experienced Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental assessments and manage the full process from start to finish.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and related regulations.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and legal teams to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- Lead and manage environmental projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet all relevant environmental standards.
- Perform thorough due diligence and risk assessments to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
- Identify potential environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors' Degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and take the initiative to drive projects forward.
- Must be a registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) with EAPASA.
- Project Management: Proven experience in managing environmental projects from initiation through to completion.
- Proven experience in environmental assessment, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and policy.
- Experience working in the mining sector is essential, as the firms projects frequently involve this industry.
