About the Role

A fast-paced technical services business is seeking a hands-on and highly organised Junior Stores Manager to support and oversee day-to-day stores, dispatch, tooling, stock control, and material allocation operations.

This role is ideal for a candidate looking to grow within a structured operational environment while gaining exposure to stock management, logistics coordination, dispatch control, and technical operations support.

The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of operational processes, maintain strong stock accuracy, and support the smooth running of daily operational activities across stores and dispatch functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of store assistants and cleaning staff
  • Receive and inspect incoming stock from suppliers
  • Verify supplier deliveries against purchase orders and invoices
  • Ensure correct items, quantities, specifications, and part numbers are received
  • Coordinate with procurement regarding shortages, incorrect deliveries, or returns
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding delivery schedules
  • Prepare and print daily purchase orders for supplier deliveries
  • Manage technician stock and material requests
  • Prepare van stock and materials for technician collections
  • Allocate and prepare project materials for dispatch
  • Assist with packing lists and dispatch documentation for projects
  • Ensure project materials are correctly labelled, photographed, and verified
  • Maintain orderly, secure, and clean stores and dispatch areas
  • Control access to stores and maintain stock security procedures
  • Assist with stock identification, bin allocations, and inventory systems
  • Participate in monthly stock takes and van stock audits
  • Manage material returns, scrap segregation, supplier returns, and stock reallocation
  • Coordinate skip collections and scrap management
  • Assist with management of the tool store and tool control systems
  • Ensure tools are checked, tested, scanned, and audited correctly
  • Support the introduction and maintenance of tools within the tool management system
  • Update operational tasks and instructions via internal management systems

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience within a stores, warehouse, dispatch, or stock control environment
  • Exposure to technical, engineering, construction, industrial, or operational environments advantageous
  • Basic understanding of stock control and inventory processes
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Computer literacy and ability to work with stock systems
  • Valid driver's license advantageous
