Design & Draftsman

This position is responsible for creating drawings from concept through to final detailed production and cutting files for Multicam. This includes the drawing up of BOM of all plate and extrusions, wood and foam that will be required for builds.

Key Performance Areas

• Design and create new Vessels.
• Calculate buoyancy and hydrostatic reports.
• Calculate Vessel Weights.
• Create detailed drawings for production.
• Generate flat pattens for cutting department.
• Assist production with build methodology.
• Assist Sales with new concepts and designs.
• Dealing with SAMSA on new Vessel builds
• Creating drafts drawings by making use of sketches, photos, videos and or verbal instruction and whatever other input is available.
• Assist in the inspection and final QA to ensure all aspects of the build are covered.
• Constantly research more efficient build methodology.
• Research product developments that could be incorporated in the current and future builds.

Experience and Qualifications

• Engineering degree
• 3 years relevant experience in boat building industry.
• Relevant Drafting Experience in CAD drawing and CAM
• Boat construction and metal boat building methodology.
• Competent in drawing in Rhinoceros
• Quality Standards and Deadlines
• Statuary requirements for building small crafts.
• Valid drivers licence and reliable transport.
