Accountant

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: R20,000 - R25,000 per month

Our client is within the warehousing and retail space , Fast Moving Consumer Goods 

Responsibilities: The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the company and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. The candidate will report directly to the [relevant manager or position] and collaborate with the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
• Perform reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Process financial transactions and ensure proper coding and classification.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Handle general ledger entries and adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and trends.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Prepare and submit tax returns and other regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as auditors and tax authorities.
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or similar in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is required.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office suite, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Salary and Benefits:

• Competitive salary within the range of R20,000 - R25,000 per month.
