CATIA Designer (Pressings / Automotive Manufacturing)

Salary: R15,000 – R30,000 per month (CTC, experience dependent)

Role Overview

A well‑established Pressings Engineering Manufacturer based in Port Elizabeth is seeking a CATIA Designer to join their engineering and tooling team.
This role requires an individual who is proficient in CATIA and able to operate confidently in a manufacturing / pressings environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CATIA
• Design and detail press tools, tooling components, jigs and fixtures
• Modify and update existing CATIA models and drawings
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications and customer requirements
• Support the toolroom and production teams with design solutions
• Prepare layouts, BOMs and manufacturing documentation
• Assist with design improvements, troubleshooting and revisions
• Ensure all designs meet engineering standards, tolerances and quality requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven proficiency in CATIA (essential)
  (Candidates must be able to work independently in CATIA – training‑level exposure will not be considered)
• Experience in pressings, tooling, automotive or manufacturing environments
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Qualification or formal training in Mechanical Engineering, Draughting, Toolmaking or Design (advantageous)
• Solid understanding of manufacturing and tooling processes
• High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving ability

Experience Level

• Junior to Mid‑Level CATIA Designers
• Toolmakers with strong CATIA design proficiency and a desire to move into a design‑focused role will be considered

Salary & Benefits
