About Enterprise Risk Management

The Enterprise Risk Management domain is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the firm's enterprise risk management framework and associated compliance programs. As part of the Quality & Risk Management function, the team provides oversight and support in relation to enterprise risk, regulatory compliance, AML/CTF obligations, and privacy, helping to safeguard the firm.

About the Role

  • BDO is seeking an Enterprise Risk Compliance Senior Administrator to support the day-to-day operation of the firm's Enterprise Risk Compliance function and contribute to the delivery of key risk and compliance initiatives.
  • Reporting to the Enterprise Risk Compliance Manager, you will provide support across a range of operational compliance activities and projects within the Enterprise Risk Compliance team. The role is responsible for coordinating and administering third-party onboarding due diligence processes, conducting initial reviews and assessments of requests, maintaining registers and compliance records and liaising with stakeholders across the firm and with external parties under the guidance of senior team members.

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with stakeholders across the firm to support compliance with Modern Slavery and Anti-Bribery and Corruption obligations, contribute to the ongoing enhancement of processes, and help protect the firm from regulatory risk and reputational harm.

Key Responsibilities

Due Diligence, Compliance and Questionnaire Management

  • Conduct initial reviews of contractor onboarding requests and support the ongoing monitoring of due diligence requirements. Including coordinating stakeholders across the firm to facilitate the timely completion of contractor onboarding activities.
  • Initiate and monitor Modern Slavery Questionnaires through the firm's third-party risk management platform.
  • Conduct initial assessments of third-party Modern Slavery Questionnaires responses and escalate matters requiring further review or decision-making.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of registers relating to modern slavery, anti-bribery and corruption, third-party due diligence and other compliance activities.
  • Conduct initial reviews of anti-bribery and corruption questionnaires completed by third parties and other BDO member firms and coordinate follow-up actions as required.
  • Maintain records of completed assessments and support ongoing monitoring and periodic review activities.
  • Assist with responding to internal and external requests, independent reviews, regulatory enquiries and information requests relating to personnel due diligence requirements.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of personnel due diligence processes and controls.
  • Conduct initial reviews of client and vendor questionnaires received from the business.

Project Support and Process Improvement

  • Support the preparation of BDO Australia's annual Modern Slavery Statement, including coordinating data collection activities with internal stakeholders and external parties.
  • Support the Enterprise Risk Compliance Manager in the delivery of strategic projects and process improvement initiatives across the Enterprise Risk Compliance portfolio.
  • Contribute to projects relating to modern slavery, anti-bribery and corruption, contractor governance, external appointments, third-party due diligence and other enterprise risk compliance programs.
  • Support the testing and implementation of new technologies, workflows, forms and system enhancements that improve operational efficiency and compliance outcomes.

Skills and experience:

  • 2 to 3 years demonstrated experience in compliance, risk management, client and/or third-party onboarding or a related regulatory or compliance function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess information, identify risks and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy when managing large volumes of information and documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain compliance requirements clearly and professionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
